Welcome to Team Taipei's blog! We're traveling 12 103 km from Toronto to Taipei, Taiwan to participate in Dance and the Child International Conference (daCi), and sightseeing in Hong Kong on the way. This blog follows our progress and lets our parents and friends know what we're up to as Carousel Goes Global.

Excuse me, would you like some...

So basically we've been up for 48 hours and we've eaten A LOT. there was a lovely breakfast buffet and everyone that works here is amazingly nice because they're in training because this is a training hotel and they're all so awesome and don't speak English. So we had an awesome waiter named Raymond who was so adorable and said excuse me a lot (elyse prefers to call him "my main man Ray" but not to his face.) also the guest:employee ratio here is like 1:4000 so they always come into our room and bustle around doing stuff for us which is nice. Today we walked a lot in the million degree heat and went into a mall that only contained the store Armani and also Armani exchange and Giorgio armani and Armani jeans and everything Armani. Literally it's so humid here that you get soaked just standing still haha but the city makes up for it. This is an insane experience and we all love our parents for sending us ;) we took a bus tour too and it started to rain so we essentially wrapped our heads in ponchos and we waved at lots of other tourists and had a grand old time. Tonight we're heading to the floating restaurant thing which we're all very excited for (more eating which is what we do best). Some pics:

Haley with her dramatic interpretation of the majestic butterfly.
